PRINCETON - On Monday, October 6th, 2025, Nancy Lee Christensen passed away peacefully at the age of 91 at Liberty Village in Princeton.
Nancy was the second of four daughters of Edward and Genevieve Fritz and was born September 10,1934. She received her Registered Nursing degree from the Dixon Public Hospital School of Nursing in 1955. Nancy continued to work for the Dixon Hospital for several years and finished her nursing career as the Director of Nurses for the Walnut Manor Nursing Home, a position she held for over twenty-five years.
Nancy married Donald Christensen on March 22, 1957, in Walnut. Nancy and Don went on to have two children, five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. All having the fondest memories of many family events, including celebrating holidays with extended family and friends, and many vacations and much travel. Their annual Labor Day bash at their Rock River cabin was enjoyed by many and spanned many years.
Nancy enjoyed travel, ceramics, bingo, card games, and puzzles. She especially liked getting together with her Bridge Club, which consisted of a large circle of close friends.
She is survived by one daughter, Jan (Joseph) McDonald of Ohio, one son, Jeffrey (Karen) of Loon Lake, WA, one sister Jeri (Dennis) Schrader of LaMoille, and five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Joanne Kramer and Donna Manak.
Visitation will be from 10:00 - 11:00AM on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut. Burial services will follow at 11:00AM at the Walnut Cemetery with Pastor Brian Wilson of the First Christian Church officiating.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial to Special Olympics will be established.
