Princeton, IL Nicholas A. Stocking, age 33, of Princeton, Illinois died Monday, January 4, 2016. Nick was born on April 9, 1982 in Kewanee, Illinois the son of Roxanna Odell. He was a machine operator at Mennies's Machine Shop in Granville. Nick enjoyed spending time with his daughter being the best father he could be, his dog Charlotte and special friends Joshua "Jeebs" Lange, Robert Dixon and Timothy Nordstrom. He also enjoyed music, golf, hoodies and pajama pants. He was a Cubs and Blackhawks fan. He is survived by his mother Roxanna (Doug) Piper of Manlius, Illinois; one daughter Kennedy Stocking of Monmouth, Illinois; one sister Misty Stocking of Champaign, Illinois ; two step sisters Allyssa Thompson of Sheffield, Illinois, Kailey Piper- Specht of Manlius, Illinois; his maternal grandfather Charles Odell of Bradford, Illinois; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother and his great grandparents. Cremation rites were accorded. A time of sharing will be held Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Garland Funeral Home in Walnut. Family requests casual attire preferably Cubs and Blackhawks. Burial of cremains will be at a later date in Walnut Cemetery. A memorial has been has been established for his daughter's education in lieu of flowers.
