Randall J. Monson

Randall J. Monson, age 66, of Walnut, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at CGH Medical Center.

Randy was born October 16, 1954 at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton, the son of Delmar K. and M. Marie (Ziegler) Monson.

He was a 1974 graduate of Manlius High School and a life long member of the Manlius Sportsmen’s Club.

Randy loved his tractors, tractor pulls, fairs, carnivals, town celebrations and especially the foods that they would serve there.

He is survived by his Aunt Ruth Ziegler of Tiskilwa; siblings, Lola Olds of Ohio, Karla Garland of Walnut, Nyla (Steve) Arnold of Rural Buda, Neil “Biggy” Monson of Walnut, and Russ (Linda) Monson of Manlius. Also numerous nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Uncle Louis Ziegler as well as other aunts and uncles; sisters, Martha Jane in infancy and Linda “Linny” Brooks; niece, Dawn Monson.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 30, 2021 at Garland Funeral Home in Walnut from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. As per his wishes he donated to Gift of Hope. Memorial service to follow with Vicar Ryan Mackey officiating. Burial will be in the Manlius Cemetery.
