Renate (Apenborn) Lowder

NEW BEDFORD – Renate Lowder, age 80, died Saturday, October 24, 2020 at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton.

            Renate was born on November 4, 1939 in Rhaunen, Germany the daughter of Arthur and Helene (Dannewitz) Apenborn.  She married Edwin “Joe” Lowder on May 29, 1960 in Rock Falls.  Renate was a homemaker.

            Survivors include her husband, Edwin “Joe” Lowder of New Bedford; one daughter, Sylvia (Kasper) Urban of Ohio; one son, Arthur Lowder of New Bedford; one brother Gerhart (Margaret) Apenborn of Hoxter, Germany; two granddaughters, Heather (Tyler Binam) Urban and Tiffany (Chris Pini) Urban.

            She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Margot Apenborn.

            Private graveside services were held at Union Cemetery in New Bedford with Pastor Brian Moore of the First Christian Church in Walnut officiating. Arrangements were completed by the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut.

            In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
