Rita Hallman Obituary

Rita B. Hallman, 91 of Walnut died Friday January 3, 2025 at Allure of Walnut.

She was born on April 29, 1933 in Walnut, the daughter of Gean and Ruth (Sarver) Middleton. Rita married David Lee Hallman on August 25, 1951. He died May 14, 1994.  She had worked at PAG Seeds with her late husband for many years. She was a member of the Walnut United Methodist Church and a member of the Farm Home Club. Rita served as a past den mother for the Cub Scouts and had helped take care of many elderly friends. Working a good rummage sale was one of her favorite past times.

Survivors include her daughter, Regina (Russell) Egan of Madison, TN; her son, Bill (Joni) Hallman of Wildwood, MO; her sisters: Charlotte (Bruce) Von Holten of Walnut, Anita (Kent) Carpenter of Manlius, Phyllis (Darrell) Kump of Oregon, Lois Swanson of New Bedford and Genevieve Walters of Walnut; her brothers: Jim (Anne) Middleton of Walnut, Jack Middleton of Ashland, OH; four grandchildren: Josh Egan, Aaron Egan, Jaime Hacay and Clay Hallman; six great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter Susan; sons, Terry Hallman and Donald Hallman; her brother Joe Middleton and sister Betty Jensen.

Visitation will be held on Friday January 10, 2025 from 10-11 AM at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut, followed by the service at 11 AM. Burial will conclude at the Walnut Cemetery.

Memorials may be given in her memory to the Walnut United Methodist Church and the Walnut Fire Department.
