Robert H. Dale

 OHIO- Robert H. Dale, 91 of Ohio, died Monday, April 24, 2017 at Heritage Health Care in Walnut.

He was born on August 30, 1925 near New Bedford, IL, the son of John and Daphne (Draper) Dale and had served in the US Army during WWII from 1943 - 1946. He had been a lifelong farmer. He married Suzanne Andersen on September 11, 1949 in Walnut. She died July 21, 2016. Bob was a member of the First Christian Church in Walnut. He enjoyed fishing, working on crossword puzzles, playing bridge and was a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan. He was an avid High School Football fan.

Survivors include one daughter, Barbara (Ronald) Von Holten of Walnut; four sons, James (Joyce) Dale of Amboy, William (Janelle) Dale of Geneseo, Joe (Chema) Dale of Arlington, VA and Thomas (Nancy) Dale of Geneseo; 12 grandchildren, Matthew, Joelle, Michael, Timothy, Kimberly, Thomas, Ilyas, Dileyli, Dylan, Megan, Cindy and Connie; and 20 great grandchildren, Joshua, Keiyana, Lia, Natasha, Samantha, Johnathon, Talon, Kaleah, Kaden, Huck, Sophia, Kayden, Jaron, Gabriel, Grant, Caleb, Evan, Cameron, Louis and Ayden.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his son, Ronald Dale; and his two brothers, Lawrence and Merle Dale.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 28, 2017 from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut. The funeral will follow on Saturday at 10:00 A.M. in the funeral home, with Reverend Brian Moore, officiating. Burial with Military Honors will conclude at Union Cemetery in Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ohio Athletics Booster Club and the Walnut American Legion Post #179.
