Obituary
Robert Lee Johnson, age 92 of Walnut, died Thursday, February 24, 2022 at Rock River Hospice and Home in Sterling.
Robert was born on November 26, 1929, in New Bedford, the son of Truman and Mary (Lang) Johnson. He was a United States Army Veteran and served during Korean War. He married B. Darlene Hardy on July 9, 1950 in Walnut. She preceded him in death on December 21, 2018. Bob was a member of the Walnut First Christian Church. He was a farmer and Greenville Township Road Commissioner for 20 years.
Survivors include his daughter, Renee (Thomas) Henry of Rock Falls. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; two brothers, Donald and Calvin; and three sisters, Lena Perry, Leora Murphy, and Marjorie (Loren) DeWaele.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 28, 2022 from 10:00-11:00 A.M. at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Pastor Troy Campbell officiating. Burial will conclude at Walnut Cemetery.
Memorials may be made in his memory to New Bedford Christian Church, Walnut First Christian Church or Rock River Hospice and Home.
