Robert E. Stees, age 67, of Tampico, Illinois, died Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at his home in Tampico. Bob was born November 15, 1948, in Rock Falls, IL, the son of William and Lois (Pfeiffer) Stees and was raised by Harry Ferguson. He was united in marriage to Julie Quimby on August 8, 1970 in Lancaster, Missouri. He served in the United States Navy as a Navy Seal during the Vietnam War. Bob was employed as a truck driver in the area for many years and also was involved in restaurants in Walnut and Tampico, Illinois. He enjoyed fishing and racing. He is survived by his wife, Julie of Tampico; seven sons: William Stees, Tyler Stees, Donovan Stees, Dakotah Stees, Zachary Wadelton, Skylar Stees and Chevy Wadelton all of Tampico, IL; two daughters: Mindy Shindel of Davenport, IA and Cherokee Wadelton of Tampico, IL; 14 grandchildren; one great- grandson; his father, Harry (Elaine) Ferguson of Wisconsin; one brother, Perry (Linda) Ferguson of Tampico; one sister, Peggy (Steve) Hadaway of Tampico, IL and several other half brothers and sisters not of the area; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Judy. Funeral services will be held on Monday November 30, 2015 at 6 p.m. at the Garland Funeral Home in Tampico with the Rev. Don Johnston, pastor of Beacon of Hope, officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Garland Funeral Home. Cremation rites will be accorded after the services.
