Roberta M. Heidenreich

Roberta M. Heidenreich, 95, of Walnut, Illinois passed away Sunday, November 24, 2024 at CGH Medical Center in Sterling, Illinois.  Roberta was born September 11, 1929 in Kasbeer, Illinois to the late Marion and Louie (Chambers) Lund.  She married Willis Heidenreich on September 7, 1952.  They lived in San Antonio, Texas while Willis was stationed in the U.S. Army and then returned to the family farm.  Roberta loved life on the farm taking care of livestock, especially dairy cows.  Willis preceded her in death in 1976 yet she remained on the farm until her passing.

          In later years, Roberta loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She was an avid reader and enjoyed puzzles.

          She is survived by her daughter, Debra Ganschow of Walnut, IL and son, Don (Sondra) Heidenreich of Walnut, IL.

          She also leaves behind five grandchildren, Jackie (Tyler) Nichols, Michael (Lindsey) Ganschow, Angela Roberts, Andrea (J.D.) Erickson, and Ashley (Mark) McPhillips.  In addition to ten great-grandchildren, Ellie, Levi, Brooklynn, Tucker, Hunter, Lillian, Evelynn, Corrigan, Calista, and a great granddaughter to arrive on Mother’s Day 2025.

          She was preceded in death by her brothers, Curtis and Lyle (Ben) Lund and a son-in-law, James Ganschow.

          A private service was held November 26, 2024 with burial at the Walnut Cemetery.
