Ronald Ganschow

Ronald Ganschow, 91, of Walnut, passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at Rose Haven Nursing Home of Marengo, IA.

He was born on December 3, 1930 in Walnut, the son of Everett and Helen (Hoge) Ganschow. He married Dorothea Brandau on October 11, 1953 in Ohio. She preceded him in death on June 12, 2005. Ronald was a farmer and a lifelong master mason of the Masonic Lodge of Walnut.

Survivors include his daughter, Karen Ganschow of Rockford; two sons, Bill (Nancy) Ganschow of Oxford, IA, Dick (Kristi) Ganschow of Tremont, IL; one sister, Marilyn Johannes of Moline; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife.

A visitation will take place on June 11, 2022 at Garland Funeral Home of Walnut from 10AM-12PM. Following the visitation a Masonic Service will take place at 12PM and the funeral service to follow at 12:30PM at the funeral home with Pastor Michael Freeman, officiating. Burial will take place at Walnut Cemetery following the services at the funeral home. The family invites you to also join them for a luncheon following the burial at the Masonic Lodge in Walnut.

Memorials may be made to the family to be used according to Ron’s wishes or be made to Essence of Life Hospice of Amana, IA who took great care of Ron.
