Ronald Rote Obituary

Ronald D. Rote, age 70, of Princeton, died Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at his home.

          Ronnie was born May 14, 1954 in Princeton, the son of Lowell and Zulma (DeWaele) Rote.  He was employed at Gateway Services for 20 years.  Ronnie was a lifelong Cubs fan and loved doing jigsaw puzzles. He had a huge pen and Beanie Baby collection, loved Snoopy and Charlie Brown. Ronnie volunteered at the Bureau County Food Pantry for many years.

          He is survived by his sister, Caryl (Mike) Dimmig of Walnut; his brother, Duaine (Debra) Rote of Morrison; one niece, Angie (Brett) Flannery; two nephews, Dan (Jessica) Dimmig and Jason Rote; one great niece, Taylor Dimmig; and two great nephews, Gannon Dimmig and Evan Flannery.

          He was preceded in death by his parents and a great niece, Faith Flannery.

          A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut.  The funeral will follow at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with Pastor Justin Bullington officiating.  Burial will be at Walnut Cemetery.

          In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established to Gateway Services and Bureau County Food Pantry.
