Rosemary Egan, age 98, of Deer Grove, died Saturday, March 14, 2026 at Rock River Hospice and Home in Sterling.
Rosemary was born January 16, 1928 in Walnut, IL, the daughter of Leroy and Iva (Fordham) Chandler. She attended Walnut schools, was a 1945 graduate of Walnut High School, and attended Scovill Business College in Sterling. Rosemary married Roland Egan on November 27, 1947 in Tampico. He preceded her in death on March 5, 2017. She worked for Service Transportation for 17 years and also helped her husband with farming.
Survivors include three children, Richard (Lori) Egan, Russell (Regina) Egan, and Robert Egan; nine grandchildren; and many great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one sister, Marilyn Boehm; and one grandson, Dustin Egan.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the Garland Funeral Home in Tampico. The funeral will follow at 11:00 AM with Deacon Bill Lemmer officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Tampico.
A memorial has been established.
