Ruthe Ann Howes-Palacios, age 55 of Des Plaines, passed Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at her home after a long illness. Ruthe was born on March 21, 1963 in Peoria. She graduated from Bradford High School, Illinois Central College, University of Illinois and then earned her Doctorate Degree from Northern Illinois University Law School. She was a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority. She married Juvenal Palacios on October 3, 1998. She worked for 5 years at A.R.D. C. and 19 years at Cook County State's Attorney Office. She is survived by her husband, Juvenal; her son, Eliseo of Des Plaines; her parents, Doug and Mary Hansen of Walnut and Tom Howes of Bradford; four brothers, Bob (Carol) Howes of Walnut, Brian (Janet) Howes of St. Charles, Mark (Stacie) Hansen of Peoria and Mike (Minnette) Hansen of Ocala, FL; one sister, Jean (Jay) Morthland of Rock Falls; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents. Visitation will be Saturday, May 5, 2018 from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut, 14733 IL HWY 92. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 P.M. with Reverend Brian Moore officiating. Burial will be at Walnut Cemetery.
