Sallie M. Bivins Obituary

Sallie Mae Bivins, age 82, of Walnut, died Monday, October 16, 2023 at KSB Hospital in Dixon.


Sallie was born May 17, 1941 in Ripley, TN the daughter of Clara (Robinson) Lawson and Lewis Lawson .  She married Jackie Neal Bivins on October 5, 1957 in Chicago.  He preceded her in death on February 4, 2022.


Sallie was a homemaker that raised three children while gardening, canning and cooking.  Sallie was known for her amazing cooking skills and love for her family and friends.  She had a very close relationship with her niece (in law), Rose Morris and enjoyed talking with her almost daily on the phone.


She is survived by her daughter, Tricia (Phil Barajas) Aguirre of Princeton; two sons, James Neal (Jodie) Bivins of Sheffield and Paul Ande Bivins of New Bedford; special daughter-in-law, Sherry Bivins; seven grandchildren, James Neal Bivins, Jr., Jason Scott Bivins, Jackie Lynn Bivins, Jacob Paul Anderson Bivins, Marissa Louise Mae Bivins, Jessica Lee Ann Bivins, and Drema Alexe Mae Aguirre; eight great grandchildren; and five siblings, Raymond, Eugenia, Norma, Tommy, and Myrtle.


          She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; one daughter-in-law, Susan Bivins; two grandsons, Jonathan Paul Bivins and Justin Michael Bivins; and eight siblings, Marie, Raymond, Mavis, Jimmy, Frank, Peggy, Patricia, and an infant sister.


Cremation rites will be accorded.  Private ceremony to be determined at a later date.
