Sherry M. Zemke, age 54, of Walnut passed peacefully at her home on June 7, 2026.
Born on August 2, 1971, in Dixon, IL, the daughter of Richard and Delores (Jenner) Schoon. She spent 16 years working as a dialysis technician, a profession she truly loved and through which she touched the lives of many patients and coworkers.
Sherry enjoyed spending time riding motorcycles with her significant other, Shane Taylor, reading books and listening to hard rock music. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures and treasured the moments she shared with family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Taylor Zemke of Rock Island; her Significant other, Shane Taylor of Walnut; her sister, Janet (Ron) Marshall of Varna; three brothers, Jerry (Paula) Johnson of Varna, Curtis Johnson of LaMoille, and Roy (Mary) Johnson of Ardmore,OK; and four step brothers, Marty Schoon, Bobby Schoon, Billy Schoon and Ricky Schoon all of Rockford.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
At her request, there are no services. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Cremation rites will be accorded.
