Steven J. Conner

Steven J. Conner, 66, of Ohio, IL passed away on Monday, August 19, 2024, at Allure of Walnut.

Steven, known to all as Giz, was born on January 30, 1958, in Princeton, IL to Orm and Ann (Norden) Conner. Steve graduated from Ohio High School in 1976. He began working for Ohio Grain while in high school and worked there until his retirement. He also served on the Ohio village board. Steve married Mendy Wilcoxen in June of 1982. She preceded him in death in November of 2022. Together, Giz and Mendy enjoyed spending time with their many friends.

Survivors include his sister, Nancy (Tom) Dale of Geneseo, sister-in-law, Denise Conner of Dixon, mother-in-law, Judy Wilcoxen of Walnut, brother-in-law, Ken (Sally) Wilcoxen of Princeton, several nieces and nephews, and four great-nieces.

Steve was preceded in death by his wife, father and mother, and his brother, Charlie Conner.

Cremation rites will be accorded, and a private family service will be held at the Walnut Cemetery at a future date. Memorials may be directed to the Village of Ohio, or the charity of choice.
