Steven M. Peterson, age 66, of Princeton, Illinois died Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at Perry Memorial Hospital. Steven was born September 5, 1949 in Tacoma, Washington, the son of Marlowe and Deloris (Norton) Peterson. He was united in marriage to Kathy Tornow on September 16, 2000 in Walnut, Illinois. Steven worked as a truck driver (or as he would like to call it "a Commodities Relocation Engineer) for over 50 years. He retired and last worked for Sullivan's Foods. He is survived by his wife, Kathy of Princeton; 4 sons, Josh Peterson of Rock Falls, Illinois, Chris Peterson of Des Moines, Iowa, David Peterson of Oakdale, California and Larry Peterson of Texas; 2 daughters: Jennifer Tornow of Princeton and Kelsi Peterson of Sterling, Illinois; 2 grandchildren: Hannah and Christopher Peterson; 2 sisters: Alice (Roger) Diaz of Elizabethtown, Kentucky and Sheryle (Darrel) Rush of California; 2 brothers: Martin Peterson of Happy Camp, California and Dwayne (Babs) Peterson of Orleans, California and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers: Darrell and David, and his father- in law, Leonard Tornow. Cremation rites were accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, January 17, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut. A memorial has been established in lieu of flowers
