Sue J. Peterson

Sue J. Peterson, 85 of Walnut died Thursday June 14, 2017 at Heritage Health in Walnut.

She was born on May 26, 1932 in Walnut, the daughter of Burke and Edna (McDermand) Livey. She married Billie E. Peterson on May 3, 1953 in Walnut. He died March 7, 2013. Sue and her late husband, Billie owned the former Peterson Jewelry Store in Walnut. She was a very welcoming and giving person. She enjoyed baking and sharing her many goods with friends, neighbors and her community for many years. She had attended the Walnut United Methodist Church.

Survivors include four daughters: Bee-Ja (Joe) Thompson of Walnut, Tami (Harold) Huseman of Walnut, Cari (John) Durham of Mayfield, KY and Jenny (Steve) Koser of Walnut; two sons: Corey (Valerie) Peterson of Walnut and Chad Peterson of Walnut; her sister, Ramona (Chuck) Hewitt of Land O' Lakes, FL; her brother, William Livey (Marjorie Albrecht) of Princeton; 18 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Shane Thompson and a great grandson Noah Lind.

Visitation will be held on Monday June 19, 2017 from 9:30 - 11 AM at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut. The funeral will follow at 11 AM with the Reverend Eldon Cook officiaying. Burial will conclude at the Walnut Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Walnut Park District: construction of the Walk/Bike Path or the construction of the ROCK.
