Vannie L. McVey

MANLIUS – Vannie L. McVey, age 87, died Monday November 13, 2023 at Aperion Care in Princeton.

            Vannie was born on March 16, 1936 in New Bedford the daughter of Alden and Ruth (Hoffman) Swanson.  She was employed as an LPN for 21 years with Walnut Manor in Walnut.  Vannie was an avid horseback rider, loved her poodles and dolls, enjoyed garage sales.

            Survivors include close friend, Tina Umphress of Manlius; one brother, Gene (Margaret) Swanson of Polo; two grandchildren, Chrissy and Ryan Childers; three great grandchildren; one niece; one nephew.

            She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Mike McVey And Rick Childers; one sister, Beth Rudiger.

            Cremation rites have been accorded.  Graveside services will be held at a later date at Greenville Fairfield Cemetery, New Bedford.  Arrangements were completed by the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut.
