WALNUT- Wanda J. (Hansen) Peterson, age 82 of Walnut, died Friday, November 11, 2016 at Heritage Care of Walnut.

Wanda was born on June 19, 1934 in Mazon, IL, the daughter of George & Mildred (Brooks) Reader, Sr. She married Richard N. Hansen on August 16, 1952 in Princeton. He preceded her in death on January 4, 1987. She then married Forrest "Buck" Peterson on October 27, 1990 in Walnut. He preceded her in death on September 9, 2010. Wanda was a member of the Walnut United Methodist Church and a member of the former Hamilton Club. She enjoyed baking pies, tending to her flower garden, playing cards, and most of all, spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include two daughters, Barb Rutledge of Walnut and Beth Nelson of Deer Grove; two sons, Barry (Karen) Hansen of Hayden, Idaho and Bill Hansen of Chandler, Arizona; three step-children, Kim (Teri) Peterson, Kurt (Julie) Peterson and Bunni (Bob) Cline; one sister, Shirley (Bill) Weaver of Morris, Illinois; one brother, George Reader, Jr. of Coal City, Illinois; five grandchildren, Scott (Ruby) Rutledge, Tammy (Jason) Vidmar, Tonya (Mike) Besler, Trisha (Rob) Blackwell and Cody Nelson; nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; three sisters, Vivian Burke, Rita Oakland and Viola Shoemaker; two brothers, Roy and Kenneth "Doc" Reader and one brother in infancy, Donald Reader.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 19, 2016 from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut. Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.

A memorial has been established in her memory.
